Dr Christa Maynard, PhD medicine
With a PhD in medicine, 20-year career as cell-biologist in medical research, and a life-long passion for health, nutrition and natural medicine, Christa came to realise our most powerful means to tackle chronic disease is through diet and lifestyle choices. After devoting many years of research to trying to unravel the mechanisms behind age-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, and investigating how we could prevent these diseases naturally, Christa embarked on further studies to enhance her knowledge in nutrition and lifestyle medicine, to be able to help people improve their health and wellbeing naturally.
By combining scientific understanding of human physiology, genetics and disease mechanisms with nutrition, herbal/natural medicine and lifestyle factors, Christa helps individuals tackle physiological imbalances at their roots. ’I work like a health-detective, to identify what is going on at the roots of your health issues, and guide you to support these areas to help you move toward optimal health’.
Christa is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and works with immune dysregulation, particularly autoimmunity, intolerances, thyroid, chronic fatigue, and complex cases. She is also particularly interested in brain and mental health, supporting healthy ageing, and prevention of cognitive decline.
